Beautiful dragon pendant made of genuine 925s Sterling silver!
Dragons and mythical creatures have been found throughout Denmark and held great significance during the Viking Age. Motifs like this dragon were used, among other things, as brooches and garment pins.
This piece of jewelry is specifically made after a find from Birka in Sweden. After lying on the seabed for more than a thousand years, the jewelry was discovered in 2015. Archaeologists have dated the dragon head to the 9th century. As far back as 1887, a casting mold made of soapstone was found, with a motif very similar to the Birka dragon, so the archaeologists quickly recognized the dragon head.
This pendant is 3.9cm high and 2.5cm wide. The hole for the chain is 3mm, so all chains 3mm and smaller fit this pendant.
