Viking brooch depicting the famous Odin's mask from Aarhus, made of genuine 925s Sterling Silver!
A total of 5 fragments of mask stones have been found in Central Jutland, and this mask is a museum copy of the famous mask found in Aarhus.
The mask stone that this piece of jewelry draws inspiration from was found in 1850 under a burnt-down mill, where it had been used as a cornerstone in the foundation until then.
It is difficult to say with certainty whether the mask depicts Odin, Thor, or Christ, but reportedly Odin had a mask so frightening that his enemies turned and fled at the mere sight of it.
The jewelry is beautifully made and is a fantastic alternative to Thor's Hammer for those looking for a medieval piece that is a bit different.
