Large and detailed Thor's hammer made of steel!
Thor's hammer Mjölner is undoubtedly one of the most important symbols (if not the most important symbol) of the Viking Age. The hammer is easily recognizable, extremely versatile and available in everything from fine and elaborate to larger and heavier designs.
Thor was undoubtedly the most "popular" of the Norse gods, and many places in Denmark are named after him. He was strong and had power over wind and weather, although he lacked the wisdom of his father Odin.
According to Norse mythology, the hammer was forged by the dwarves Sindri and Brokk and was used as a magical weapon by the thunder god Thor. In battle, he could hurl the hammer through the air, and it always hit the target and returned to him like a boomerang. It is also with the power of Mjölnir that Thor was able to raise his two goats Tandgnost and Tandgrisner from the dead.
Thor has lost his iconic weapon only once, when the giant king Trym, according to the Trymskvadet, stole the hammer from him. Trym refused to give it back unless he was given Freya's hand in marriage, so the gods came up with a plan. Thor dressed up as Freya in a wedding dress and tricked Trym into believing that he was actually Freya. During the wedding dinner, Mjölner was placed in "Freya's" lap, and Thor was now able to reveal his true identity and kill Trym and his entire family.
This Thor's hammer is designed with beautiful curved patterns that draw thoughts towards Celtic knots and classic patterns and motifs from the Viking Age.
Thor's hammer is worn as an amulet for strength, protection and energy.
The pendant measures 38 x 24 mm and is made of steel. A steel chain with a diameter of 4.5 mm is included.
