Beautiful and detailed Viking shield recreated in bronze as a pendant!
Historical shields from the Viking Age were made of wood with edges and a metal center, often decorated with leather or paint, for example with god motifs. The shield was crucial for the Viking's survival in battle against the enemy and was often used as a motif or inspiration in jewelry. The shield is worn as an amulet for protection and strength.
The spiral motif on this particular shield comes from an authentic piece of jewelry found in Satakunta, which is now on display at the National Museum of Finland.
The pendant has a diameter of 27 mm and is made of bronze.
