The symbol on the earrings is a rune known as Vegvisir. The Vegvisir rune has a rich history. The name means "the one who shows the way" (Vejviser), and the rune is a traditional and sacred Icelandic rune staff.
The symbol is associated with the ability to help people find their way home and can protect them from storms, but it also had a more spiritual or existential meaning! It is also seen as a compass for the soul that can help you find your right path in life, make the right choices, and guide your heart in a good direction.
The guide is first mentioned in the Icelandic Huld manuscript, written by Geir Vigfússon in 1860. The guide rune is therefore not part of the Viking Age but a symbol often associated with Vikings.
