Fantastically intense and detailed Thor's hammer pendant!
This Thor's hammer is decorated with beautiful Celtic shapes that wind through the pendant. In the middle of these is the Valknut symbol. This symbol has been found on Viking-era memorial stones found in Gotland, as well as on grave goods found in Norway. The name Valknut has been given to the symbol in recent times, as little is known about the knot's original meaning. It is believed that the Valknut is to honor fallen warriors, and therefore the knot with the three overlapping triangles is also called the Death Knot.
The top of the hammer features a highly detailed goat's head. According to Norse mythology, Thor's chariot was pulled across the sky by two goats named Tandgnost and Tandgrisner. The names mean "the gap between the teeth" and "the one who gnashes his teeth" and are meant to recall the sound of lightning, while the chariot itself creates the sound of thunder as it is pulled across the sky.
The pendant is 38mm high and 31mm wide and is made of genuine silver. The hole that the chain or cord should run through is 5mm wide, and all chains and cords narrower than 5mm will therefore fit this pendant.
