In Southern Europe, it was a Bronze Age tradition for women to weave gold jewelry into their hair. Since then, many of these pieces of jewelry have been found in ancient graves.

These earrings recreate a motif known from these graves. Originally, the heart was turned "upside down," with the pointed end at the top. It is uncertain whether the jewelry was deliberately meant to depict hearts, or whether the resemblance is coincidental.

These earrings are copies of a piece of jewelry found in Transylvania in Romania, and the original is on display at Moesgaard Museum. Archaeologists date the piece of jewelry to 1478 BCE, that is, 3,500 years ago.

The earrings are 15 x 17 mm and are made of genuine 925s sterling silver.
