The series consists of 3 mead varieties: Gorm, Sven and Harald. All 3 named after Danish Viking kings. Each Kongemjød comes with a 10-page booklet about the Viking kings, the mead, and what considerations Mjødgård has made regarding the flavors that belong to each mead.

Gorm the old man's mead is a sweet mead that has great richness in taste with a lovely fruity apple scent. The apples add a sourness to the mead and create a nice balance to the powerful late summer honey. The kvan plant gives a slightly spicy aftertaste that sticks to the palate.
