Beautiful copy of bronze bead from Russian find!
This wonderfully detailed pearl is a replica of a pearl from the so-called Kremlin Treasure. The Kremlin Treasure was hidden during hostilities in 1238 and was only rediscovered in 1988. Among other things, pearls like this one were found here, decorated with beautiful patterns of twisted silver wire, also called filigree. The pearls have been used to decorate headdresses, chains and jewelry.
Beads in a similar style and expression have also been found in Denmark, including at Fyrkat near Hobro.
The matte surface of the metal contrasts beautifully with the polished details that bring all the decorations to light.
The bead has a diameter of 13-18 mm and is made of bronze.
